Woodland's Cal/West Seeds acquired by Dow AgriSciences

A wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Co. (NYSE: DOW) has acquired the assets of Cal/West Seeds, a Woodland-based supplier of alfalfa, clover and other crops to seed companies and growers in the U.S., Canada and 25 other countries, Melanie Turner writes.

Cal/West Seeds will expand Dow AgroSciences LLC’s alfalfa business and strengthen its global forages business. Forages are plants or parts of plants eaten by livestock.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. ...
