(NYSE: DOW) has acquired the assets of Cal/West Seeds, a Woodland-based supplier of alfalfa, clover and other crops to seed companies and growers in the U.S., Canada and 25 other countries, Melanie Turner writes. Cal/West Seeds will expand Dow AgroSciences LLC’s alfalfa business and strengthen its global forages business. Forages are plants or parts of plants eaten by livestock.
