yep....agreed he just needs to let the personal anecdotal, and repetitious, 'whoa is me' subjected to the vermin populating central CA stories go....nothing stops him from making an exit....

if things are as bad as he is saying, he is foolish to remain....especially considering he has the financial wherewithal to leave....

pity the poor middle and lower working class who do not....they are enduring far more suffering than the travails of a 'gentleman farmer'

RE: It's to the point where I couldn't care less about the people of California.

Your view is not unusual - even coming from a lot of the good people of California - most of whom are leaving the state.

There's very few Republicans left in the state. If they want a career in politics, they realize they can't get elected here. There's an unknown running against Diane Feinstein. Feinstein is a given. A small business owner with no party preference is running against Henry Waxman, one of the scariest men in the world. He keeps getting reelected because there's no Republican to run against him. And for the state assembly, our choice is between 2 Democrats.

The town I live in is almost like a ghost town because of all the big businesses that have left - it was once the aerospace center of the country. The For Lease signs in the business area are ubiquitous. Our town was once flush with surpluses in the treasury, which the unions quickly latched onto, but now the tax base is gone and the town is in serious financial trouble.

California is a beautiful state, but we're losing a lot of what made it a great state. The schools, once rated near the top, have been taken over by the unions who are in the business of protecting bad teachers rather than protecting the students.

Illegal aliens probably outnumber citizens and are given free rein to do whatever they want. Every day there's a news story about a hit and run accident that involves a fatality. They run because they don't have insurance or are drunk or high.

I did my own informal review of friends in my address book. If they're libs, they're still here. If they're to the right, they've moved out of state - to Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico - almost all of them.

I'd like to move too to get away from all of what's going on here, but I really resent that I'm being pushed out and there's nobody left to help fight against what's happening to this lovely place.
