Oil cartel and military industrial complex are joined at the hip. Big money making machines and corporate welfare playing off each other. One good thing about high oil prices is it accelerate's progress but the big boys can pull the rug out at anytime and bankrupt the new innovators before they get to scale. Something as insignificant as Solyndra (MIC waste and fraud spends that in EIGHT HRS) gets mentioned to take the eye off the ball. Over 50 mpg by 2025 via multiple drivers, get off addiction to foreign oil and bankrupting this country with our middle east excursions..Main reason so much money is being spent to avoid a second Obama term IMHO. Not sure if a plug in extended range lithium battery dominates or hybrids with a dual engine by then.. Interesting times but super pacs aren't out to help the little guy.
