And is the race today any closer than the Gore, Kerry races were? And if Gore or Kerry were the incumbent I doubt it would be this close. Gore lost a fixed election in Florida only (voter suppression) and he had to deal with Nader drawing away votes. Neither of which Obama has to deal with. Kerry lost in Ohio only by a tad and he did not have the auto rescue to help him and had to fight gay bashing which is what did him in (and the Swift boating). There is the logic you should be applying.
