Let's put it this way, one of the most successful businesses in S.A. builds walls and security fences. Even modest homes have very elaborate home protection. We are talking 10' walls/fences with barbed wire and electrified (actually, they do a single electrified wire at the top). All windows and doors have bars. I had it described that the reported crime rate is generally not that high, but what is reported is usually extremely brutal.
