I've bought things off Craigslist before but never sold anything, in part because I've heard the stories about the scammers that come out of the woodworks in response to Crbaigslist For Sale listings. Today I listed a Thule Cargo Box for sale. The first (and thus far only) response was this: "Hello, do you still have the subjected item available for sale?" ("subjected" his/her word, not mine) I responded that I still have it for sale. This was the email just received: Thanks for responding, I'm ok with the price. i would like you to remove the advert from the list cos i want to make the purchase asap and i dont mind adding extra $20 to delete the ads from the list.. Please let me know if a certified check is ok.? After the payment clears, my shipper will come and pick it up at your location. I would have loved to come and take a look but I can't. My shipper will though. If you can get back to me with your details I'll get the check out asap. Need your full name and address, and your telephone number.. My response: Sorry.
