You are so right. I went to a scrabble thing last night, a yearly church fund raiser. A room full of normal, intelligent, successful people. Binders and big bird, guffaws all around. Somebody is going to be shocked Nov 7th, I only hope it is them, there was not a doubt in the room that Obummer will win.

>> I know this....in a little over two weeks there will be a great gnashing of teeth somewhere or othe

I honestly have no idea how this is going to turn out, although, I think things should become clearer tomorrow night. Neither side would admit it if it were a lost cause. Obama will be trying to motivate kids to get out and vote. In the end, the more under-30s and African Americans he can get to vote, the better off he'll be.

At first, I thought Romney would win in a comparative landslide (so much of a landslide as you can have without CA & NY). But the reality eventually sank in with me that there are a lot of people who simply are beyond reason and the fact that Obama has been a disaster and has literally no stated agenda for the next four years just doesn't matter to them. The Obama campaign has done the most fantastic job imaginable at misleading the gullible; they now believe Romney is going to take their birth control away. Hell, last week, there was a rumor on Twitter that Romney would ban tampax.

Sometimes you have a warm feeling about something, but you hesitate to think it because you don't want to screw it up. So, I'm sticking with the pundit line that it is going to be very close. Privately, however, I still think a landslide would be in the best interests of the country.
