Tea Party history says it came into existence right after Obama came into the WH. Initially, their main issue was Obama's birth certificate. The they moved onto issues like debt. If debt was their concern, then they should have come into existence in 2006 when the debt first showed up after Bush squandered away the surplus that he inherited in 2000. If debt was their issue they could have come into existence in June 2008. But since they came into existence after Obama won, I refuse to accept that they did so because of the debt, as you say. Freedomworks may claim they were formed in 1984. But they were not active until Dick Armey embraced it and put it on the front burner after Obama's election victory in 2008. They became a force in 2010 after Dick Armey organized them for the 2010 elections.
