In the most recent issue of The Economist there is a short article about Qatar, a major oil and gas producer with a pop.of 150,000 (the focus of the article is about how rich these people have/will become). I found it of interest to our thread that (1) Qatar has already been exceeding OPEC production limits for some time; (2) they have ambitious plans for the long term to develop further their oil fields; (3) when they are finished with that they will develop their substantial natural gas resources.
It strikes me that this bodes well for drillers, particularly when it is considered that much of this future development depends on western drilling companies. BTW, NE has a presence in Qatar:
