I agree with you... although defense SHOULD be down the list. :) Also, SS isn't even supposed to be in the budget... one should get what they put in + interest... it's a GREAT REASON that the fed should't be holding i rates at stupid levels... IN FACT, SS program alone is a reason to completely revamp the fed... Bernanke and Greenspan have essentially bankrupted the program and reduced benefits to every senior in the country!! DAK

Don't you dare put Social Security and Medicare with those other programs. People put specifically their own money in those programs outside the taxes they pay.
