Steve, we went off track with the Reagan administration. It was with them that the "Starve the Beast" tactic became embedded in Republican policy, and running large deficits became the preferred way of defunding government.

Clinton did what he could. Republicans AREN'T Keynesians, have their own fantasy "supply-side" economics that says every tax cut produces MORE revenues, run huge deficits during the "good" economic times when they should be eliminating deficits and paying down debt. REPUBLICANS are the problem, NOT Keynesian economics.
