For the same reason Obama has run ads that claim Romney would have taken the industry into bankruptcy when Obama himself did precisely the same thing. I believe Romney's ad is more above board than Obama's, but this is the downside of Obama's negative campaigning -- he's getting back what he dished out. Although what he's getting back is above-board, while he is dishing out garbage.
