On its inaugural day of existence, the new Tankwatch iDtenT index fell from 10000 to 9873, a loss of 127 points, or 1.3%.

This new index that Tankwatch is introducing measuring the success of Apple relative to Microsoft, relative to October 31, 2012.

It is defined as follows:

(Price of 1 Share Apple / Price of 1 Share Microsoft) * 10000 * (.048024)

The more this index moves above 10,000 the wiser the AAPL long position and MSFT short position would have been.
The more this index moves below 10,000 the wiser a MSFT long and AAPL short position would have been.

It is going to be fun watching this index. :)

LOL... if you read this page, its abundantly obvious that Apple flagrantly violated the spirit of the court order, if not the letter.

They were supposed to say "Samsung didn't copy us.", and instead posted pretty much exactly the opposite, turning the opportunity into an ad campaign. X-D

I really can't wait for them to be forced to comply, and look forward to splashing that image here when they do.

Apple should get fined, but good, for such wilful disrespect of the court's order and rightful victory awarded Samsung.

On its second day of existence, the new Tankwatch iDtenT index fell from 9873 to 9708, a loss of 170 points, or 1.7%, bringing its two-day loss to 297 points or 3%.

The more this index moves below 10,000 the wiser a MSFT long and AAPL short position would have been.

I believe the latter position; one that would be supported by the iDtenT index losing value, would be a far wiser investment decision.
