It doesn't matter who is / was President they inherit spending and without an act of congress can't stop most of it. The same goes for what has to get paid when the money we have coming in stops coming in. GWB gave us that! So, POTUS inherits a massive loss of revenue on the top of record spending by GW (Medicaid, wars, tax cuts yada yada) and gets a financial freeze stopping the flow of capital. Not to mention 750k jobs a month going, a GDP leaking at -3.8%, financial markets hitting the floor, and a housing market market making Europe's 80 crash seem like a yard sale. Any one of these points on there own would be critical and cripple any financial system and it almost belittles there impact writing them in the same paragraph. The results of which were every single person in the country dropped roughly 40% of their net worth. For most it meant negative net worth. The picture was not good which is why you voted for him in 2008. So this is where you get me confused. What did you want him to do? Here is what he did. With the 1.6 trillion inherited deficit he has lowered it every single year he's been in office. It's 1.1 trillion now which is to much but going down. I's a myth Obama is a big spender. The policies he has championed reduce our spending over the long haul it's only fox who doesn't get that. Today we added 155k jobs, which is a 900k a month turn around in our economy. Our GDP grew at 2%, which is a potential 5+% turn around in our economy. Our financial systems and markets are working well enough that every financial market, without exception, has seen a 100% increase. Invested in the American worker and won huge by saving the Auto industry. The presidents policy's have given women a more equal playing field. Made it cheaper to go to college. Ended an unwanted war and wound down a necessary one. Lowered taxes for 98% of us and kept the other two percent the same. Decimated the Al Qaeda network. Enacted 18 tax cuts for businesses. Every policy he fought having a common link, which was to help the working person. Put more in their pocket so they can live their lives. Which they did and they spent, shown by the fact corporate America is sitting on the largest profits in modern American history. Mind blowing numbers in the Trillions. So my question to you again without knowing your position personally. What exactly did you want him to do that he didn't given the situation he had? I haven't even mentioned until now the most obstructionist congress in history. You should be championing this guy for doing what he did and turning us around. I don't get it.
