Ike, Dow 800- A reality or a myth?
I agree, it is a myth! -g-

Instead of 6200 now 8000 will bears care to post an apology for getting it all wrong? gggggg

Was that you dare-devil buying KO at 65 and IBM at 113? If so, be my guest. -ggg- Why would bears apologize while a good majority of them are still admitting the possibility of further manic heights for this markets. The big difference between your argument and mine, as a bear, is that you consider DOW a bargain at 8000. I say it is there because it one of the characteristics of the stock market bubble. If the upcoming earnigns warnings don't burst this bubble to low 6000, I will go on record and say the DOW bubble will be at 9000 by February and then a pop!

BTW, the irrational bulls claim that SE Asia doesn't matter. But Altera and motorola say otherwise.

Good to hear from you. How are things in Pakistan? Convey my best regards to your family.

IQ

Do you see any long term damage to SOX? Down sharply by almost 6%, return all of yesterday gain and more. This sector is extremely volatile beyond its historical even as the blue chip steadily moving up.

Hi Iqbal -- hope that your visit to Pakistan is going well

>>Instead of 6200 now 8000 will bears care to post an apology for getting it all wrong? gggggg<<

Iqbal, I think that your exuberance is bordering on the irrational side again:)

>>Two absolutes now- SOX takes out 321 within next few sessions<<

Now you should have talked to Tom Kurlack before you posted this:)

Seriously though, I think that the semi-equips are showing signs of bottoming action--I was planning on taking some long positions after the tax-loss selling has abated--but despite my bullish bias, I'd really like to see the Asian markets stabilize and the currencies end their free-fall before I do so. I don't think the Asian melt-down is over and the next straw may be a currency crisis in China and that could unsettle things further. What I am not able to get a handle on is how much of an effect all of this would have on the US economy -- one hears that it will not be much, but there is something of a domino effect underway--and so the question is which will be the last domino to fall.

>>I will short the market at S&P .... more to come why to talk of short in a bright sunny weather<<

Now you had me worried, when I saw the first part of the above sentence--almost thought that someone else was posting under your name:)

Sorry AQ, you may have marked the peak again, like you did on October 6th when you started posting on the Kahuna thread.

Ike, I don't want you to think that I am passing "back-hand swipes" at you.

After all, using the sentiments for investing is an art. I thought you mastered it. But, I have seen you get caught in it in the last 3 occasions. An exuberant post from you really marked a top and/or a turning point. -g-

Watch the techs bite the dust again tomorrow. It is getting tougher and tougher for the Street to spin and defend the lousy numbers for so long.
