Great post.

I can't figure out how libs would choose such a horrible future for their kids. Or maybe they are too stupid to know what happens. All they have to do is look at Greece, Spain, etc...

Looking at the results this morning it appears to me we can second guess Romney's strategy to no end, but I doubt being more conservative or aggressive would have made a difference. If the last four years did not motivate a anyone but obama / socialist vote the next four may.

We clearly have passed the tipping point where people want more and more from the government with no appreciation that we cant even pay for the present entitlements / social programs such as SSI and Medicare.Clearly if Obama can win on the last four years we are in four some hard truths to be experienced.

The full wrath of Obamacare and the IRS is right around the corner along with the death panels.

I will be reading plenty of history books (avoiding politics) the next 3-4 years and doing whatever I can to stay healthy and not dependent on Obamacare.

I don't think Romney was the problem in this election.

The problem is that this is not the same country you were born in. It's a different country now, with different people. And the people populate present day America deserve no better than Obama.

Romney went out to win an election not an argument, Reagan went out to win an argument and ended up winning the election.

14 million fewer voters than 08

Going hard right aggressively would have netted him fewer votes, in my opinion.
Allen West went that route and lost to a nobody.

One criticism I have is that Romney often spoke over the heads of a good portion of the electorate. He never fully explained the fiscal cliff, or sequestration, or capital gains tax rates, or a managed bankruptcy, or how growing an economy leads to lower deficits. He assumed the people knew what he was talking about. Not to mention his basic vocabulary is better suited to a written essay than a frank discussion.

We agree that the GOP needs to worry less about how close to the left a candidate is and more about how they will get the base worked up.

You pointed out several gaffes Romney made to pander to the leftist media. The first thing I noticed was the lack of Tea Party events. The Tea Party got out the vote in 2010. They stayed home in 2012.

President Bush 43 promised action on the defense of marriage and protecting life. After his win in 2004 with solid majorities in both parts of Congress he made no effort to follow through on his promises. No Amendment was submitted. The evangelical voters voted with their rumps in 2006 and democrats took Congress.

If Romney had scheduled a Tea Party rally every week in a swing state he could have gotten several million more voters excited to vote.
