Voter suppression worked pretty well in Jim Crow days. But those days are long gone now.

I think you're right. Look at this voting line. Looks like a lot of Obama voters to me, who may be discouraged, but are damn well going to VOTE!

Well, I certainly hope you are right. But I have to go back to the serious organizing effort of the Obama campaign and the freshness of battling the Republican suppression machine. Without those two things, suppression can wear down populations.

And while it will help to have more state level administrations in Dem hands, the Reps will get back. And then who knows.

The only hope I have against that at the moment is that there is a massive delegitimizing of this incarnation of the Republican party such that they have to, even slowly, spread their tent.
