Barry,

The local papers here in Kentucky identify the 14 year old gunman as a son of a Paducah attorney.

The paper reported that he tended to hang around with people who "claim to be, like, agnostic or atheist." It also reported that "he and his friends would stand by and taunt the worshipers".

What bothers me the most about this incident, is the fact that he apparently planned this all weekend for the sole purpose of stopping Christian "hypocrites" from publicly expressing their faith.

I have heard Christians say for years that Christians should keep their children in public schools as a witness to others. When you see something like this you wonder if they aren't asking you to risk your childs life both in their social upbringing if not their life itself.

I know my views on this issue have changed over they years. As a father of a 9 and 3 year old, I find it difficult to send my children to public schools. Heck, they can't even teach right and wrong in a public school because someone will say it violates church and state.
