You cannot blame Rove. After all, his gravy train has likely derailed. Oh, he won't be destitute, no doubt he got a nice cut of those hundreds of millions that passed through his hands. But those donors were promised a president that would do their bidding. Things didn't work out. I doubt if they will be as free with the money next time around.

Romney was Rove's pick from the beginning. Which was easy to understand, the others were scary loons. And if anyone could make the transition from far right, fire breathing conservative that they needed to be to get past the primaries into a moderate that they needed to be to actually win the election, it was Romney. Unfortunately, the whackadoodle wing of the party howled every time he tried to shape shift until the first debate. That was too late because even distracted voters noticed...
