Internal memo to all FBN Executive Officers ... It appears that the Mega Merger is off. We just couldn't come to a meeting of the minds with a couple of the candidates. It seems they feel that their automated approach to solving the Y2K problem has potential for raking in the big bucks. Even doubling the offer of the number of pre-IPO shares didn't budge them. Too bad, because I bought extra toner in preparation for their acceptance. So, beware of some of the also-ran Y2K companies during the next few weeks. When word leaks out that they're no longer on our list of mega-merger candidates, the people who were leaked the information that they were on that list will begin to sell. That selling pressure will erode the stock prices. Oh, well ... we gave 'em a chance. TED
