That is not all the same thing...even though you have a mandatory auto insurance law a fair # of drivers still wont carry auto insurance....when the uninsured folks have an accident they just dont get paid..

With the mandatory health care folks who don't carry health insurance will still get treatment even though they don't pay into the system....they will be asessed a penalty but they wont pay that either..

I know plenty of people without car insurance. It's only a 'mandate' if you have a car.

But everyone has a body.

>> Do you believe that mandating the purchase of car insurance has caused the cost of car insurance to go up?

Why in the world does anyone even need to ask that question. The answer is obvious, but also irrelevant and literally immaterial when compared with the loss of freedom involved. Mandated insurance -- whether auto or health, is an intrusion into individual liberty. Period. Forget that both were sold to the American people under false pretenses.

All this taking away rights and freedoms cannot continue and still have the same great country many of us were born into.

The most important question asked during the Obamacare case was by Alito, when he asked whether the people could be compelled by government to purchase burial insurance. The answer, now, is "YES". And if they can mandate burial insurance, what can't they mandate?

Of course insurance rates have gone up with the mandate... The data I have comes every quarter with my bill.

The question is how much are you willing to pay to the various bureaucrats to manage your mandate ?

The root of the issue is freedom. How much are you willing to give up ?
