>> Yup, all those gawd damn Veterans and old people sucking up government assistance - you know Medicare.

I don't think anyone should have a problem with veterans receiving benefits they were promised in exchange for putting their lives on the line; I certainly don't.

The federal government effectively forces people onto Medicare when they turn 65, whether they want it or not. And most believe they have paid for what they get.

But they haven't, which is the reason Medicare needs trillions of dollars in funding that isn't going to be there. Medicare recipients don't understand it, don't know about it, but the reality is they are taking far more out of the system than they ever put in.

When Medicare beneficiaries demand that no changes be made to Medicare, in my opinion they move from the realm of reasonableness and become takers who want more out than they put in; obviously, the difference falls to future generations.

It is unfortunate that the Left doesn't have the political courage to admit it; instead, they concoct this Obamacare nonsense that just muddles a picture that is already confusing to most.
