IBM has a very large factory in Hungary.
IBM has two DD plants in Hungary, one near Budapest and one in Szekesfehervar (don't ask me to pronounce that! <g>). The combined output of these facilities is allegedly 4M/yr of NOTEBOOK drives.

Their primary desktop production facilities are in Singapore. Indirect info indicates between 4 to 6M units/yr capacity to come on line there by 98, with at least 3M unit/yr capacity in operation.
