>> Peer reviewers are selected for their expertise in the field that includes the subject being written about.... Politics is not a consideration when asking someone to be a peer-reviewer.... It is not the same as proof-reading or editing. And gut feelings have no place in the process....

Please, just STFU.

To use the lack of peer review as some kind of blanket rejection of a given study, as CJ did, is just veiled incompetence (aside from that, his statement was incorrect).

It is an excuse for not looking at the facts, and one that is chronically tossed about by liberals -- largely those who wouldn't know a scholarly work if it bit them on the ass.

There are innumerable cases of peer review failure and eventually the entire process is likely to be discredited, particularly as it pertains to scholarly works just as it has in various professional fields, in which the entire concept is downright bogus and often leads to inferior work product.

Give i-node a break. Partisanship colors everything about him. Like many on the Right, he tacitly assume that because they would do something in particular, then everyone would too.

I'm suggesting only liberals use it as an excuse to discount anything they don't agree with it. Never heard a conservative say, "Oh, that cannot be valid because it isn't peer reviewed."

It is a cop out, period.
