I agree. Considering our doctor shortage has us boxed into a corner, "mid-level" providers are our only option at the present time. Also, cutting physician salaries isn't a long-term solution for healthcare costs and quality care. Prospective doctors simply won't go to medical school if we don't pay them enough.

Yes, they are, and the Doctors are bringing it on us with their trade union restrictions. NP,s can be an excellent triage Doc in an HMO environment, but you can get a bad one. I let a NP working at Kaiser as a Dermatologist be my specialist for two years. A mistake. I would not use one again working as a specialist.

In addition, I could tell he didn't like me. Good caution. Don't let something like that go on.
