. I mean, come on, how much data do you need to transmit the energy usage statistics of one home? Granted each individual packet is small. But you want a continuous stream of them. And you would like them with very little latency. If a spam email takes a few hours to get to you, so much the better. Not so if you want an adaptable smart grid...
