Jimmy,
Re -- I can't believe anyone takes Kurlack seriously .

For once I agree with you. However that Wily Kurlack picks his moments. Just when Altera had a bad announcement, he made his comments (plagurized from SI) about the semi industry.

This adds to the confusion, and causes a sell off.

You will never see Kurlack make negative comments when the techs are doing well, nor positive comments when the techs are doing badly. Rather the inverse.

That puts him in the same category as you jimmy (a sleezeball)

Jimmy,
Re -- Being right..

COMS just mentioned inventory reduction, and earnings shortfall.

Check out the following

because all of the excess inventory of their customers had to be reduced.

This could affect other OEM's of CPQ, HWP, such as disk drive makers, memory makers and other components.

Remember Jimmy, pay close attention to my posts, they could make you money. :)

Stockman.

Whats going on? --- Intel shares are on a roller coaster

Yesterday it made a break out of its trading range at the top, jumping from 79 1/2 to 81 at a gallop. Today it dropped steadily, on the news of earnings shortfalls on the part of component and peripherals manufacturers.

I suspect this is because those shortfalls were not concentrated in any one sector and because retail reports out on the initial PC sales over the Thanksgiving holiday showed they were down to flat from last year. This created worry of a general slowdown in PC sales.

And some people are actually wondering if Intel will do what COMS did. You know what happens then.
