Ryan,
Good news for Cytec is not bad news for Accumed....after a thin prep slide is made it must be read by a cytologist, hopefully using the Accumed system.

Ryan-

For what it is worth I have a "feeling" that a company like ACMI that is currently at a market capitalization of roughly two times annual sales will be picked up on some radar screens soon. My fingernails are definitely getting shorter with the close of each trading day.

It appears that the end of the quarter is the only thing we have to look forward to in the short run. In the longer run the March meeting discussing the AcCell System time saving features will be the next. Wow that is a long time for shareholders to hold their breath AND their falling shares. What to do, what to do.

How many "wishes" have you used up with the ACMI IR Genie? Cisco and I it seems are tapped out on (requests) for the '97 year. Hopefully when '98 comes along they will be replenished. Anyway why not drop the "powers that be" at AccuMed HeadQuarters a line. Leave them know that we are in ice-cold, shark infested waters with our life-vests on. The sharks are nibbling at us and we have no feeling in one leg from the knee down. We are all huddled together for warmth and are afraid hypothermia is setting in. We are trying to keep each other awake. Ask how long before the rescue helicopter comes.

I thought the Captain was supposed to go down with the ship. He bailed out early on us didn't he. Let's hope he returns and brings some help.

That computer model of ACMI I posted Dec.1 is the only ray of light I presently see in a very dark tunnel. It is calling for a drastic reversal. That and $1 will get you a cup of coffee. I hope all this nonsense at least made you smile.

I believe that you are only partially right. While it is true that ACMI has something to prove to the world and that Peter Gombrich's selling does not help the Company in perception terms, it is also the case that Cytc's news is not bad news for ACMI in the least. CYTC's Thin Prep is a front end device to ACMI's semi-automated system and ACMI now has data to show that its system actually enhances the reading of CYTC's Thin Prep samples and lowers the overall cost per test to the Lab. My belief (backed by buying at these prices!) is that the combination of CYTC's sample preparation and ACMI's recently acquired deal with a finance company to finance placements of ACMI systems, will prove to be powerful incentives to the cytopath lab to convert to such a system. The recent HCFA announcement will enhance and facilitate this process and ACMI's Sales and Marketing restucturing together with the announced cost savings, set the stage for a 1998 which should finally yield the prospects that investors have been looking for for some time. By the way, P.B.'s selling of stock has nothing to do with the prospects of the company and all to do with personal needs; this I know for a fact!. Use the tax selling period to accumulate the stock!

Greetings

Steven
