Socialism is a creeping thing. It's not something that just happens over night. Rather, it's something that people get used to in stages. It's like boiling a frog. When the frog finally realizes the water is getting warm enough to kill him, he's too lethargic to jump out.

We already have the world's historically largest socialist program: Social Security and Medicare (OASI). We also have many industries that are subsidize when there is no logical reason for the subsidies. Farms. Oil & Gas. Ethanol. Additionally, we have the world's largest welfare state, with 48 million people on food stamps and roughly 50% of the population receiving some kind of welfare payment from the state.

We are far more socialist than you think and it is creeping into more and more areas of our markets. It is getting worse, not better.
