There's too many difference between WFR's and CYMI's performance to compare the two.

WFR is trading at approx. book value but they don't have the same attractive appearance. WFR recently posted a loss on declining sales etc.. CYMER went from approx. $20 million to $200 million in sales in 12 months etc..

The chart on CYMER shows great support around these levels. You can draw a line across the bottom from the last two years and here we are.

I'm not dis'ing WFR, but's it's not CYMER.

AMAT + TER + CYMER + 365 DAYS = $$$$$$ :-)

Zeev, I have to confess now that you are probably right. Everytime I think that the stock is at rock bottom and can't possibly go any lower, something comes from completely out of the blue to knock the stock into the dirt. I did not see Kurlack's opinion coming (he's pretty widely recognized as Mr. Semiconductor among analysts) and by my own opinion expressed earlier, the market is still behind the curve with respect to what this means for semi-equipment companies. It is still mystifying to me that when people like Carl Johnson who are really in touch with the industry come away from it with extremely bullish views about growth and expansion, that all of this fundamental information, based on the sound data of the orders booked by firms in the industry is totally ignored by analysts covering the field. I'm learning the hard way about the degree to which experts can remain either (1) completely ignorant, or (2) deliberately manipulative of select security prices.

Zeev,

Your conservative approach is to be commended; however, I was less worried buying CYMI @18.625 today then buying AMAT @32.75 and TER @31.5 yesterday (sold both today at 3:30pm to buy CYMI). I think SOX will hold 275 or may not even test it at all, so downside is pretty limited.

Regards,

Y.
