Market cap weighted index of larger semi caps up a little today.

Not bad considering a heavyweight downgrade of the customers' prospects.

Yakov and Thread:

Another garage sale today. It was a pleasure to pick up some more CYMI today under $ 19. (Thank you Tom!)

Do any of you get Dick Young's newsletter? He's real conservative but I did learn one thing from him that I will never forget. He urges investors to scan the horizon for LOCKED-IN TRENDS, buy up your position and hang on until everyone else figures it out or until there is evidence of the trend losing long-term momentum. I also remember the February 1997 Forbes article which emphasized the point that the 1996 semiconductor slowdown actually accelerated the migration to .25 micron technology.

I know that this point is nothing new but it is fundamental to all of us holding our long positions and adding to them (if possible) at these ridiculous prices under $ 20. I'll keep taking a few more shares permanently off the market before January 1998. Once January hits I don't think this stock will be a bargain anymore.

Advice to Zeev: Don't wait for the perfect moment. In the overall scheme of things the time is now.
