The reality will be totally different. The SC is going to throw the NRA under the bus. Roberts may be a RW'er but he is no fool. He has a legacy to worry about. He is not going to go down on the wrong side of history.

Glad to hear that but I've not read it anywhere about gun safety issues. I don't recall Roberts on the second amendment and the fourteenth amendment on this issue. No doubt he has spoken somewhere.

One point made on Chris Hayes' show this morning is that the present SC position on the second amendment is that it's constitutional to have "guns" in the home. Nothing further. And that, even if this position is upheld by future incarnations of the SC, it says nothing about, let's say, assault weapon bans.
