It is unsurprising that you don't know how Carter created the disaster that is Iran. It is easiest to simply state that Carter was responsible in every way for the downfall of the Shah and the predictable rise of the "fundamentalist" mullahs. We are still paying the costs of Carters disastrous Middle East policies. And yes, Obama's naivete has caused a disastrous implosion of the Middle East. Obama's gross incompetence has made Carter's disaster look less terrible in contrast. The world will be paying the cost of Obama's IRan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Syria, and Lebanon policy for decades. Obama projects limp wristed weakness. Teddy Roosevelt said: "Talk softly but carry a big stick." President Roosevelt 26 was an effective foreign policy President.
