No, the populations of those countries (ALL of them) are doing better than the average population here. I would throw Britain in there as well, as they still have a better safety net than we do, but let's not quibble. :)

"Substantial" just means "meaningful"... not trivial. I never meant "majority".

So my point is that you are lumping Europe together... a lot of the countries you sight have always had problems and were accidents waiting to happen... the cultural differences are massive, and anyone could have predicted exactly which countries (in fact everyone did during the debates about letting these countries into the "Euro-zone") were going to have problems. "Europe" is to "Denmark" as USA is to Guam. LOL
