A prominent local socialite woman he spoke with after the lecture said she largely understood what he had been saying. My father's comment was that the understanding was likely to be fleeting.

With his Newsweek columns he was given a bigger bullhorn than is generally available to the sane now. Mason's Walter Williams probably has similar talents and charm, but he's old. Stossel is good, but probably doesn't have the depth.

As the consequences of DC's actions become apparent there will be a growing audience for what experience has shown to work. Hope we have some great spokesmen in the wings.
