Just a reminder, I think it started when I said I don't mind paying higher taxes.... I'm not an advocate out there pounding the table anywere... just to be clearn. Our friend here seemed to take issue with my "claim" (which he apparently thinks is false) that I don't mind paying higher rates.... no skin off my nose.

<A hypocrite is a person who says we are not taxed enough but pays a lower rate just because it is current law.>

Although I might agree if the person didn't contribute to charities and things like that, guess I would have to think about it... (look at gates amassed wealth without giving a whole lot away... was probably to busy, but then started gifting later... so I am no judge)..

I completely disagree with your statement above about the person being a hypocrite... in fact, it's VERY rigid and lame: There's no reason a person should have to fight the paperwork at a huge institution to try and pay what he thinks is fair: basically you are saying nothing would ever change on an institutional level because to advocate for change is hypocritical by your definition.

For example... let's say I think emission controls should be higher on autos... under your definition I would be a hypocrite if I didn't figure out a way to cut the emissions on my car....

Not to be rude... but that's lame :))

Agreed, about survey or whatever... I think we should probably vote on a lot of national issues... but I'm also OK with the system they way it is. I woudn't squawk either way. :)

I now yelling hypocite is a classic RwingNut strategy... you see it all the time in various other topics like ecology and such... it is sometimes true and sometimes not.
