*AV*--Taking the kid to COMDEX is like taking a kid to FAO Schwartz at Christmas time, with one notable exception. You could convince the kid that he doesn't want huge 1 foot long lego blocks or a 21 ft T-Rex (mechanical) made out of LEGOs. However, at COMDEX, it will be rather difficult for you to deny him all the neat gadgets one can get prior to world wide distribution. You couldn't deny him the items and keep a straight face. You would know he was right and that you REALLY NEEDED the gadget. You could blow a year's worth of OEX profits on those gadgets.<GGG>

Cable modems are rated at 10 megabits per second. Compare that to a typical phone line modem connection at 28.8K bps and you can see there is a startling difference, about 350x!
