Living life scared or afraid seems to be the common theme with all of your posts. You clearly base all on what ifs and not what actually is. What you would rather do does not jive with what is actually required based on reality. Regardless of all the data that has been posted refuting your straw man arguments you continue on with more of the same what ifs. Sticking to your guns (pun fully intended) when given proof your wrong is the virus afflicting the liberal left in this country.

Hate to break this to you, but we are no longer living in the 50s. Nice time, but things have changed. Don't recall mentioning RPGs. Going a little overboard here, eh? EVERYBODY would like to scale things back, but, as I said, things have changed. If you cannot understand the need for self-protection at this point, after all the evidence you can read in the papers, then there is no reason for me to waste anymore time trying to show you simple little facts. There were NO mass shootings in the 1950's. FYI, mass shootings in this country peaked in ... 1929. The courts and legislators are the guys saying EVERYBODY should be able to carry a gun, but how many courts and legislatures ALLOW guns where THEY work?????????????????????????????? I once worked for a court headed up by a Circuit Judge who called me aside my second day in court and told me he expected me to show up every day WITH my firearm. The Court Clerk also carried daily, as did the Judge himself. He figured the deputies should all be too busy on the streets arresting criminals to have to show up and provide security in his courtroom. One of the wisest judges I ever knew.

When they come with fighter bombers are we all going to go out and buy one? So far, thankfully, the threat does not include RPGs and mortars. If it ever happens some of us know what to do. Let's get back down to earth and reality oriented. The threat has all ready been identified by both you and us. I feel for you a little bit, but only you can fix your problem. Banging on us because we are better equipped than you to protect our families is utter nonsense. If you think your family needs the safety emanating from your pistol, but you are concerned that it is not enough, do this. Man up and Gun up and get on with your life. I promise you this - Your and your family's fear level will drop like a rock once you own and know how to use a rifle and a shotgun. You will learn your wife, kids, friends, and neighbors will have new found respect for you. Your well-armed neighbors will want you in their self defense pacts. You are not invited to participate now because you are not well enough equipped, and your attitude sucks. Most of the rest if not all of the rest of us have already done that, and we are not looking for personal and family safety and security lectures from you. You may also want to consider asking your local police for assistance in organizing a "Community Watch". The Community Watch signs the police will give you are a stand-alone, great deterrent.
