Does anyone have stats on how many crimes are committed by people who legally own guns? I'd like to see that! Shouldn't the effort be to get the guns that are illegally held confiscated? They are breaking the law already.

<in the hands of a 22 year old male, no gun is safe.> 20 children were shot with a legally owned gun registered to a middle aged woman with no criminal or mental health record. There is no way to wiggle out of it -- these weapons are a key part of the problem. It is amazing how far people will go to pretend otherwise. The only reason you can own one of these weapons of mass murder is because our politicians are cowards and they would rather save their own political hides than protect the innocent people in America who are mowed down in public places by maniacs who are armed to the teeth.
