(ii) attended a lunch party by in-laws held for mom-in-law's classmates. conversation overheard revolved around how fortunate the attendees are - all healthy - as they recounted tales to do w/ the less healthy. mental note, health is much more important than a lot of other attributes. however, life w/o cholesterol is ... well, never mind :0) (iii) took a nap as wife and daughter watched some what i would consider very pointless movie (wizards of waverly place) starring some girl named gomez. jack napped through as well. i do not understand women. (iv) tomorrow and the rest of the week shall be busy as folks generally try to get a kick-start to the new year before being happily forced to come to full-stop at month's end in the lead up to a more serious holiday season in my neighborhood. the chinese lunar new year celebration involves a week of slowed down work, two weeks break, and one week of slow re-compression. (v) wrote the (teacher from the philippines) nanny's bonus letter just now and noted that her accumulated bonus since 2008 saved in the form of an assortment of metals has done okay. her retirement fund is up 7.1% for the year. she has not had a down year since working for us. (vi) i had always figured that many domains had been in an economic depression since 2000 if we were do measure gdp in gold term. someone has worked out the numbers zerohedge.com and yes, depression we are in, even as much cost quite a bit more even if not in gold term. (vii) i feel bad for paper money savers. as and when they figure out what happened to their savings, it would be too late for them, and they might well resort to ... i can only imagine. (viii) the printing in 2013 should be quite substantial. happy new year, tj
