Steve: you are right. The dollar amount would be the most important thing to the full time trader. Like any other business, the day trader must produce sufficient profits to sustain his cost of living. Of course this would go back to how much capital the trader had in his/her business to begin with, and the projected return in the trader's business plan based on his/her ability.
