Steve, you miss Krugman's point. He agrees that the deal is a fairly good one. What he worries about is the negotiating process and how that sets up a much more difficult round of negotiations ahead with the need for both sides to dig in their proverbial heels. And Obama has once again positioned himself as the one needing the deal rather than the one waiting for the deal to come to him. And the stakes are much larger next time around.
