Cisco, I received the same conclusion today. Why wait the three days? You should buy and sell simultaneously crossing the trade at the same price with your brokerage firm acting as market maker and crossing the trade. On settlement day move the money. If you can't make the contribution until Janary that is OK b/c you will settle in January. This way you don't risk a market move or the spread. This assumes that your SEP and brokerage firm are handled by the same institution or that they will work together with you. Todd
