The management is the worst it can be - similar to Microsoft's.

At least Apple doesn't do "stack ranking" of their employees. No wonder MSFT has been mired in mud, with flat performance over the last 12 years.

Don't blame Apple management. Apple did great with the iPhone. So well, that a bubble formed in AAPL stock. However, bubbles are unsustainable. You can't blame management for the inevitable.

The market gravitates towards lower margins, and the competition eventually catches up.

One way or the other, Apple's numbers come to earth; they lose market share, or they lose margin. Or both.

Say what you will about MS, at no point investing in MS in the past 10 years would you have taken 20% loss in their stock (outside of the wider maker downturn of the mortgage crisis), and you'd have gotten great dividends the whole time.

My 401K money is in MS, not my play money. :)

If its your play money in AAPL, don't get upset about 50% haircut. Thats par for the course.

If I recall correctly, you were a Microsoft bull for the longest time. Hope you didn't lose money on the stock.
