I'm still generally OK with Google... the episode seemed to me remarkably out of character. But the proof is in the pudding, and my Lumia 920 is still redirecting away from Google maps. I think fixing the situation ASAP and a public apology would be a good start for Google. They can do anything they want in developing for their own platform, but when they go screwing with web redirects to competing browsers, browsers which are supposed to operate largely in a shared open standards world, then something very bad and new is brewing at the Googleplex. Lets hope this course adjustment is real and genuine, and this straying from the path is short lived.
