Don't project your fears onto India. Islamic jihad is a trivial part of indian existence. In today's India I would be more worried about being hit by a vehicle, following traffic rules is not a sexy enough topic to pursue by the media.

India has 315 fatalities per 100,000 motor vehicles.USA has 15 fatalities per 100,000 motor vehicles.

India has an estimated 130,000 per year fatalities from cars and about 30,000 from homicides.

USA has about the same number of fatalities from homicides as from motor vehicles. About 20,000 a year.
