The only thing I doubt or think is discounted in these discussions is that the iPhone is still about the ecosystem. I don't believe that advantage has slipped, yet.

Even with equal phones, Android manufacturers can't deliver anything close to the iOS experience.

That said, iOS needs to be more aggressive at shoring up it's software shortcomings: Maps, cloud services (iTunes in the cloud).
