Nice chart. There are inverted head and shoulder patterns for each of the three pullbacks.

Inverted Head & Shoulder Bottom

The first two resolved to their targets before pulling back again. These sort of pullbacks are healthy. I'd have to get out a straight edge and a measuring tool, but a quick eyeball of the chart shows the current inverted H&S pattern projects to mid 1500s... could be a new record high.

You have to love this mobile device trend for chip spending making new highs [ Message 29278139 ] and continuing higher.
  • $500 to $600 for a new one
  • most people are clueless and get a new phone every two years because it is part of the contract thing...
(my smart phone is 3 yrs old, I am at TMoble so I paid $10/mo for plenty of voice and data last year and it goes up to $15/mo in January....) The phone works just fine and I can't see spending $600 just to get a better camera or a faster processor... though it will be nice if I ever break this phone to get these features
  • All put tons of pressure on network bandwidth to move more pixels to faceplant and twitter as the newer phones have more pixels with better video and still cameras that give more incentive to share (Go Finisar!)
  • People drop them in the toilet, sit on them, lose them, or have them stolen while walking around in SF or Oakland, CA....
  • It is a part of most people's lives so once we are used to it, we won't give it up easily. Yesterday I was at Sprouts Farmer's Market and they had a "new" pepper that looked just like one I liked to BBQ... so I spoke the name into my Giggle search box and up popped a picture of the pepper and a story on Wikipedia saying it was another name for the pepper I like to BBQ. (Pasilla / Poblano) How can we live without that once you get used to it?
How often do you drop a laptop or desktop PC in the toilet or sit on it when you forget it is in your pocket?

Also, for the status conscious, when was the last time you hear anyone brag about how many GB of memory their PC had or how fast its processor runs? So.. little peer pressure to upgrade perfectly fine laptops and desktops... but the mobile status devices... tons!

BooYah!
