Volume thin, price down. Same for AMZN. Any good TA reading
on this?

Your experiences with Ameritrade sound horrible, but I ask you: As a shareholder, would you rather they be too busy to take your call immediately, or so idle that they're always available? Being busy is a sign of growth. Growth is good. Yes, it sucks that you got put on hold, but AMTD will catch up with demand eventually, and its share price will keep growing. In the meantime, some advice for placing trades without hassle.

1) Use the internet
2) Place market orders
3) Don't buy right at the opening, when volume is highest (you usually get screwed buying at the opening anyway, because all that pent-up demand drives up the price, which then falls the rest of the day.)

If you're still angry, just remind yourself how much you're saving on commissions. For me, that makes it all worthwhile.
