Shetfaced is in a very small minority of lefties losers who have failed in life and are looking for the government to "level the playing field" for bums like himself. I would not worry about his opinion too much. Losers like him talk tough but they never get anything done....

Brumar,
The left is begging Obama to rule by executive order. They love unelected liberal judges legislating from the bench. The appetite for dictatorship does exist. A lot of other SI liberals (Shep for instance) would love for the govt to declare war on people like me and lock us up.
I don't base my positions on liberal judges legislating from the bench, or on people in power who all too often abuse their position, or even on guys like Shep who has permanently lost half his brain.

I base my positions on securing freedoms. There isn't much freedom to be had if we have to go to the mall or school packing concealed weapons.

Meanwhile, having the right to bear arms comes with a HUGE responsibility. I'm sure the law-abiding gun owners in this nation are more than responsible enough, but as a society we have to do whatever it takes to get them out of the hands of criminals and the crazy people.

I'm in support of several solutions, some more practical than others. Usually I'd err on the side of less government, but I'm now on the side of "We can't just sit around and do nothing anymore." And to those who say that the "do something" mentality is futile, I'll just point out that "do nothing" is clearly unacceptable.
